Weight Loss Challenge and GIVEAWAY!!

I've participated in the Soul Cyster Weight Loss Challenge on multiple occasions. I've even won once. And I'm ready to get back in it. So much so that I'm also volunteering to help run it. I'm responsible for creating some of the fitness challenges.

I'm really excited about this for a few reasons. First, the format of the challenge has changed. Previously it has been a 3 month challenge, and it goes great for the first month, but activity starts to decline in months two and three. In order to keep everyone going and excited, it's being changed to last just 6 weeks. Instead of weigh-ins every two weeks, there will only be 3 weigh-ins total. The starting weight, mid-weight and end weight. The fitness challenges are going to build on themselves, progressively getting harder. There will be a lot of different options in regards to exercise, including yoga, cardio and circuit training.

The participants of the challenge have access to a private facebook group to chat with other members, and we encourage everyone to use it to give and receive support. The challenge is open to anyone with PCOS whose BMI is above the normal range. To go along with the shorter length of time, the cost has been reduced to $6. All of the entry fees (minus paypal fees) are split between our winners. So for $6 dollars, we provide you with exercise suggestions, a group of women who want to succeed as much as you do, and cash prizes!

Sounds fun, right? It is :) And to prove it, I'm going to pay 2 lucky people's entry fees. Have I enticed you enough yet?

Here's how you can enter to win:
1) Comment below and tell me why you want to join the challenge.
2) Like the SCWLC facebook page and say I (Lynne) sent you. Then come back here and tell me you did it.
3) Subscribe to my blog using the Google Followers or the Subscribe by Email sections on the right hand side of my blog (and comment below to say you did it).

For all entries, please provide your name and an email address that I can reach you at, otherwise I won't be able to congratulate you! I look forward to losing weight with you!

This giveaway ends on Friday, June 21. The challenge begins on July 1st and lasts for 6 weeks.

Cortisol and Leptin...

Photo credit I feel so run down. I felt like this most of last week, and ended up taking 3 days off work due to it. This weekend was better - We went to Houston. We spent several hours enjoying the Downtown Aquarium on Saturday, and I enjoyed my PCOS symposium on Sunday. But as soon as I got in the car to head home, this feeling came back. It was so bad that I tossed my cookies less than an hour after we got on the road. This was definitely not from being car sick. I don't get car sick. I was tired all evening, had stupid issues with my homework, and finally went to be at 2-2:30. I realize that was late, and it could explain why I'm tired, but it doesn't explain the run-down, crappy feeling. I got plenty of sleep last week and still felt this way. I think it could be a cortisol issue. I have high cortisol levels. I know I haven't checked with a doctor, but from the information I received at the PCOS symposium, as well as years of research, it fits. I did some more re...

My First Giveaway!

My last post was about my decision to start a bakery. I'm very excited about it, and have been getting some fantastic reviews from my taste testers! My menu is small right now, but I am continually working on new recipes to expand it. I'm currently attempting to make a really good gluten free sandwich bread that doesn't have corn, potato, white rice, or soy in it. I hope to have it done by opening day, Nov 1. I know it's weird to open on a Tuesday, but I plan to be very busy celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary on Halloween by scaring little kids :) I figured one of the best ways to advertise the bakery was to have a blog giveaway. So that's exactly what I'm doing! One lucky reader will receive a $20 gift certificate to I Can't Believe It's Good For Me. The giveaway is open until midnight, Oct. 31. The winner will be chosen by random.org and announced on Nov 1. Here are the rules: 1 - You must complete the mandatory entry. 2 - Post each entr...

e-mealz Shopping Trip #1

Last night I went shopping with my e-mealz shopping list. I'm on the Low Carb Any Store for 2 plan. The average is supposed to be around $50. I would agree that $50 is about right for this list. However, I don't shop cheap. I buy organic, grass-fed beef and hormone free chicken. That increased my budget by about $20. I also bought a whole bunch of other stuff, like chips and salsa, extra fruits and veggies, and lunch stuff for Hubs. I'll let you know next week if the recipes are as good as they sound :) I would be super happy if we lived on a farm and I could raise my own chickens. I'm not sure it would save me a lot of money, but it would make me feel better. At least the money I'm spending on the meat I purchase now is going to local farms instead of store chains. I guess I need to start looking for homes for rent out in the country, where I can have some chickens. And goats. Why? Because goats are cute. They jump in the air and dance. How can you be stressed an...
