June Goals

I haven't written my monthly goals out in a while. I believe it's due to my pessimistic attitude, which I'm slowly trying to work on. I've been going through several books about depression and happiness, trying to get back my former, happy self. I'm slowly succeeding, so I figured it was time to try the goals list again.

- Exercise at least twice a week
- No more donuts!!! If I can cut out coffee and soda, I can cut out donuts.
- Shop for produce at farmer's market at least once
- Organize the office so I can have a craft day with my niece
- Have dinner at the dining table at least 3 times a week
- Buy a yoga membership and USE IT. I figure that if I buy it, I'll feel obligated to use it.
- Volunteer to make sandwiches for the homeless!

I can do it. And I'm really looking forward to it!

What are your goals for June? Write about it an join us in the linkup!

  1. How could you give up donuts when National Doughnut day was June 7? I hope you're having fun working towards your goals. Don't be so hard on yourself!

  2. I've eaten enough donuts in the last few months to make up for National Doughnut Day :)
Hard on myself? Nah. I've just been depressed for so long that I have to be firm with myself, or I'll never get anything done lol

Cortisol and Leptin...

Photo credit I feel so run down. I felt like this most of last week, and ended up taking 3 days off work due to it. This weekend was better - We went to Houston. We spent several hours enjoying the Downtown Aquarium on Saturday, and I enjoyed my PCOS symposium on Sunday. But as soon as I got in the car to head home, this feeling came back. It was so bad that I tossed my cookies less than an hour after we got on the road. This was definitely not from being car sick. I don't get car sick. I was tired all evening, had stupid issues with my homework, and finally went to be at 2-2:30. I realize that was late, and it could explain why I'm tired, but it doesn't explain the run-down, crappy feeling. I got plenty of sleep last week and still felt this way. I think it could be a cortisol issue. I have high cortisol levels. I know I haven't checked with a doctor, but from the information I received at the PCOS symposium, as well as years of research, it fits. I did some more re...

My First Giveaway!

My last post was about my decision to start a bakery. I'm very excited about it, and have been getting some fantastic reviews from my taste testers! My menu is small right now, but I am continually working on new recipes to expand it. I'm currently attempting to make a really good gluten free sandwich bread that doesn't have corn, potato, white rice, or soy in it. I hope to have it done by opening day, Nov 1. I know it's weird to open on a Tuesday, but I plan to be very busy celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary on Halloween by scaring little kids :) I figured one of the best ways to advertise the bakery was to have a blog giveaway. So that's exactly what I'm doing! One lucky reader will receive a $20 gift certificate to I Can't Believe It's Good For Me. The giveaway is open until midnight, Oct. 31. The winner will be chosen by random.org and announced on Nov 1. Here are the rules: 1 - You must complete the mandatory entry. 2 - Post each entr...

e-mealz Shopping Trip #1

Last night I went shopping with my e-mealz shopping list. I'm on the Low Carb Any Store for 2 plan. The average is supposed to be around $50. I would agree that $50 is about right for this list. However, I don't shop cheap. I buy organic, grass-fed beef and hormone free chicken. That increased my budget by about $20. I also bought a whole bunch of other stuff, like chips and salsa, extra fruits and veggies, and lunch stuff for Hubs. I'll let you know next week if the recipes are as good as they sound :) I would be super happy if we lived on a farm and I could raise my own chickens. I'm not sure it would save me a lot of money, but it would make me feel better. At least the money I'm spending on the meat I purchase now is going to local farms instead of store chains. I guess I need to start looking for homes for rent out in the country, where I can have some chickens. And goats. Why? Because goats are cute. They jump in the air and dance. How can you be stressed an...
