Flash Giveaway for Weight Loss Challenge Entry Fee!

A few months ago I decided to pay for some other Cyster's entry fees for the Soul Cyster's Weight Loss Challenge. I think it's time to do it again! This time the giveaway will only be available for the weekend... I'm not giving you any time to second guess your decision about joining. Unless it makes you join! The participants of the challenge have access to a private facebook group to chat with other members, and we encourage everyone to use it to give and receive support. The challenge is open to anyone with PCOS whose BMI is within or above the normal range. To go along with the shorter length of time, the cost has been reduced to $6. All of the entry fees (minus paypal fees) are split between our winners. So for $6 dollars, we provide you with exercise suggestions, a group of women who want to succeed as much as you do, and cash prizes! Sounds fun, right? It is :) And to prove it, I'm going to pay 2 lucky people's entry fees. Have I enticed you enough ye...

Eliminating fear of change by changing fear

I did my final weigh in for SCWLC. It was 247 pounds. The first weigh in was 251.2, so I lost 4.2 pounds in 6 weeks. Oh Em Gee. And I didn't really do anything. Well, ok, I was eating better. very few donuts. And I've been eating lots of fruits - strawberries and cherries :) I've considerably cut back on Jack in the Box, because we found WhichWich. And because the car broke down, so I have to bring food from home. and I started eating the fruits and veggies I get from Urban Acres every two weeks. So that was a nice surprise. I know that I really need to start working out more. and I get mad at myself for choosing TV over exercise. I just end up exhausted by the time I get home, especially now that I'm working much longer hours. But I'm working towards getting better. It's a slow process, which frustrates me, but in the end things will change. I'm one of those people that wants to see results immediately. I think a lot of us are like that now. I feel I do...

July Goals

Holy crap it's July. June went by way too fast, and ended with very little success in the goal department. June's Goals: - Exercise at least twice a week - Nope - No more donuts!!! If I can cut out coffee and soda, I can cut out donuts. - I switched from donuts to apple fritters. I don't count this as success lol - Shop for produce at farmer's market at least once - Nope.  - Organize the office so I can have a craft day with my niece - We used the living room floor instead. - Have dinner at the dining table at least 3 times a week - Nope. Still can't even see my dining table. - Buy a yoga membership and USE IT. I figure that if I buy it, I'll feel obligated to use it. - Didn't buy it. - Volunteer to make sandwiches for the homeless! - Nope.  I completely bombed June's goals. But that's ok. I'm just going to start over. July Goals: - Stop eating apple fritters. - Participate in the Soul Cysters Weight Loss Challenge fitness p...

Giveaway results!!!

I was excited to see the reaction to the Soul Cyster's Weight Loss Challenge giveaway. I know only 4 people entered, but that's 4 more than my last one :) After discussing it with my husband, we have decided to do something that mose giveaways don't do.... Make everyone a winner! I figure that it's not really that expensive since the format changed, and I know how awesome the other participants are, so I want to allow everyone a chance to experience it. Plus, the bigger the pot, the bigger the prize at the end :) So for those of you that entered, check your email! I've sent you the information you'll need to get started in the challenge! I can't wait to get started again :)

Weight Loss Challenge and GIVEAWAY!!

I've participated in the Soul Cyster Weight Loss Challenge on multiple occasions. I've even won once. And I'm ready to get back in it. So much so that I'm also volunteering to help run it. I'm responsible for creating some of the fitness challenges. I'm really excited about this for a few reasons. First, the format of the challenge has changed. Previously it has been a 3 month challenge, and it goes great for the first month, but activity starts to decline in months two and three. In order to keep everyone going and excited, it's being changed to last just 6 weeks. Instead of weigh-ins every two weeks, there will only be 3 weigh-ins total. The starting weight, mid-weight and end weight. The fitness challenges are going to build on themselves, progressively getting harder. There will be a lot of different options in regards to exercise, including yoga, cardio and circuit training. The participants of the challenge have access to a private facebook group t...

Life would be boring without change

Sometimes things have to change, even if you don't really want them to. I've been feeling better, becoming more sociable, more productive. It's great, and I'm very happy about it. But as I was getting ready to volunteer again, I found it necessary to cut ties with my favorite organization. It's probably a good thing, because my focus won't be spread so thin. And it will give me an opportunity to find other organizations here in the area that need my help. Like Sandwich-Making Saturdays. There's a group that gets together on Saturday mornings to pack hundreds of sandwiches and cookies for the homeless. I'm good at making sandwiches :) I need to focus on myself anyway. My paychecks are starting to get bigger because I've been able to work more hours, full-time instead of part-time. So I can start getting back into the mindset that I can afford what I want instead of just what is absolutely necessary. I will be going back to yoga classes, joining the ...

No restrictions, no excuses - just success.

I haven't updated a lot since I made my new year's resolution. So far, I'm not doing as well as I had hoped, but I'm doing better than nothing. Last week I did 2 yoga sessions, one 1/2 mile lap around the park, and 100 crunches. I succeeded in working out 3 days. Yay! Since it is getting warmer, I'm planning to do the lap around the park more often. Hubs and I used to go often last year, but stopped when it got too cold. Now we have to get back in the swing of things, and I think we can. I was upset at my weigh-in last night, because I had gone up a pound. But I'm going to try to focus my goals on what I'm doing, not what I'm weighing. This week's goal is to work out at least 3 days, and at least 30 min sessions. No restrictions, no excuses - just success.

My New Year's Resolution - Become a MILF

I know that sounds por.no-ish, but I don't care. I want to be hot and sexy by the end of the year, and I'd love to be a mom. So if we combine those, you get a MILF. (Mother I'd like to F***, for those of you that are wondering) I want to lose at least 50 pounds, which averages out to 1 pound a week. I don't see why that would be too hard. My exercise/workout plans - Couch to 5K program with my husband. It's designed to get you RUNNING a 5K in 9 weeks. I'm hoping that this will be good for me and the hubby. He hasn't really been able to run since he got shot 6 yrs ago. I figured if we went slow, this would be like rehab for him, and he will be able to run again (or at least walk easier.) Yoga EVERY DAY. Leanne, a fabulous food blogger at HealthfulPursuit.com , did a 30-day challenge, where she did yoga every day, no matter how she felt. And she realized that the days that she didn't want to go were the days she really needed it the most. And when I ...

Great end to a good week

(This was from the first week of October. I was going to put pictures in it, but never got around to taking them.) This week: - 5 days of work - 1 flare-up - First walking group walk (which included two laps around the pond instead of one!) - Shopping with Mom at Grapevine Mills:       * New doormat with bright owls that says 'Who's there?'      * Floor length knit dress      * Monopoly U-Build It game - Shopping with Mom and Memaw at Stein Mart      * Polka dot heels with peek-a-boo toes      * Peacock feather flip flops      * Short sleeve blue knee length dress - First week of Soul Cyster Weight Loss Challenge - First week of Pregnitude - Picked next tattoo design, now to work on colors (reward for meeting goal at end of challenge) And it ended with game night with hubby. We played a round of our new Monopoly game, then hopped on our computers for some mop...
