What's Your Song? Thursday IS BACK!

I realized that I'm in desperate need of some tunage. I'm trying a 3-day juice fast, and I want it to go well, so I need to be in a good mood - esp. since I hate most of the veggies in the juice but I know they are good for me. I have some good news - I have lost enough weight to take the 'W's off the end of my pant size, and I had to buy new, SMALLER undies. YAY! The hubby is very excited about the pair decorated with sledding penguins lol. Here's my song - Dirty Laundry by Bitter:Sweet. Love this song!!! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go dance with my dog and ignore all the dirty laundry that really needs to meet the washing machine :) Join us on this great link-up from Amber at Goodnight Moon !

Some random pictures :)

The weather has been nice lately... Nice enough that I'm glad I have an excuse to go outside. His name is Spike :) At 5 months old, he weighs over 30 pounds. He loves rough-housing with Hubs and chasing baseballs. He's what keeps me smiling :)

Making vegan Halloween candy for my teenage daughter

Guest post written by Simon Vincent My teenage daughter told us four months ago that she was going vegan. I didn't believe that she would stick to it for more than a few weeks, but she's still sticking to that regimen. I remember it distinctly because I was going to make her a birthday cake the next week and had to come up with an alternative recipe. Since then I've been experimenting with all kinds of vegan recipes to figure out which ones are good and which one's aren't. I looked online to find some vegan Halloween recipes to make for her that would still taste good. While I was online looking up those recipes, I ran across some info on clear TV bundle packages . I showed them to my wife and after that we decided to change over our home service to one of those bundles. I did find some pretty good sounding vegan candy recipes, but I never trust one online that says it's good. Sometimes those just taste weird, but I did find a few candy recipes for peanut

Happy New Year!

No, I haven't fallen off the face of the Earth. I've actually been pretty upset with myself for going so long without blogging. I'll catch you up to speed with 2011, and then tell you what's going on for 2012! Most of you know that I took some time off work for a while to focus on my health. Well, that has lasted longer than expected. For the past year, my ring fingers have felt as though they needed a good crack/pop, but it hurt too much to try. A few weeks before I planned on going back to work, I started having major problems with my fingers. They swelled up, and for the past couple of months, I have not been able to make a fist, hold a pen, button shirts, or type for long periods of time. As a software programmer, it's difficult to work if you can't type. The joint pain is also in my wrists, elbows and knees. I had to switch which side of the bed I slept on so I didn't have to deal with the pain from crawling across the bed to my side. You know that pa
